Sinquerim Beach is another one of the beaches in North Goa. This is one of the most famous destinations in Goa and is also known as the first tourist beach to gain popularity in Goa.

Sinquerim Beach is located to the south of the famous Baga Beach, Calangute Beach and the Candolim Beach. The water here is the best for swimming. When you are going to Goa on vacation, this is not a place you should miss to visit. The Sinquerim Beach is adjacent to the Aguada Beach. The famous and historical Aguada fort is easily seen from the Sinquerim Beach too. This fort was built by the Portuguese so that they could protect the place from the invaders who came through the sea.

Best Time to Visit Sinquerim Beach

The summers here, like most other beaches of Goa, is very hot. The summer sun is scorching hot here and can almost burn someone’s skin off if the person stayed out really long. The monsoons are accompanied by heavy rainfall due to the coastal location. The most appropriate season here is the winters and it is also the best time for tourists to visit this place. The winter months extend from November to February and the temperature is the best during this time.

How to Reach

You can travel to the Sinquerim Beach by all the three major modes of transport. The Dabolim International Airport is only at a distance of 37 kilometres from the beach. The airport is well connected by flight so Air India, Air Asia, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Qatar Airways, etc.

The closest railway station is the Thivim Railway station at a distance of only 18 kilometres from the beach. This station connects this beach through the rail-lines to many major states of the country. Also, you can also go to the beach through the various national highways that connect the beaches to various other cities. The closest city to this beach is the city of Panaji, the capital of Goa.

1. Water Sports

Like all the other beaches in Goa, water sports are one of the main entertainments of this beach. Some of the most prevalent water activities here are - water-skiing, parasailing, fishing, scuba diving, and windsurfing.

2. Sunburn Festival

This is one of the most famous festivals of North Goa. The crowd on this beach during the festival is very high.

3. Fort Aguada

You can also visit the Aguada Fort in this area which is also another famous tourist spot. This fort is also famous because the shooting of the famous Bollywood movie ‘Dil Chahta Hain’ was done here.

4. Shopping

There are many places to shop on the beach and along the Baga-Calangute Road. The Baga-Calangute road is also considered the shopping hub of India. A variety of things are found here.

5. Places to Dine

There are many resorts, restaurants, and hotels in the nearby areas to dine from. Bomra’s, Tuscany Gardens, The Mermaid Earthen Oven, and Banyan Tree are several of the most famous restaurants around Sinquerim.
