Majorda beach, located in South Goa, is one of the loveliest beaches in the south. It is about half a kilometre long and is a part of a twenty-five kilometre wide stretch along the Arabian Sea. This beach is a perfect place for nature lovers and those who seek adventures. The beach is filled with nightclubs, restaurants, water sports, and pubs. People can enjoy long walks here or just sit back and enjoy the natural beauty. This beach, even though is not as busy as the northern beaches, is often visited by many foreigners, especially Russians.

1. Majorda Beach has a central position since it is close to Vasco da Gama Railway Station. It is a clean and serene beach with light, golden coloured sand. It is a part of a long expanse of sand that ranges from the Valsao beach in Vasco to Betul in the south. Also, there are no high waves here, making the sea safe for swimming.

2. The closest airport from Majorda Beach is Dabolim International Airport at a distance of 16.7 kilometres.

3. Majorda railway station, which is only 2.6 kilometres away, is the closest railway station.

4. The beach has a very developed infrastructure with beautifully built hotels, resorts, villas, shops, cafes, and restaurant. The main village is at a distance of about ten to fifteen minutes from the beach. The summers in Majorda Beach, like most of the other beaches in Goa, is scorching. During the days, it almost feels like the sun can burn one’s skin off. The best time to visit Majorda beach is in the winters. The temperature is very pleasant with almost no traces of rainfall. You can comfortable spend the entire day and even go on exploring walks during the afternoon.

How to Reach Majorda

If you are travelling by air, the Dabolim International Airport is only at a distance of 16.7 kilometres from the beach and is connected by numerous airlines such as Air India, Indigo, Qatar Airways, and Jet Airways. This airport is also very well connected to most of the major cities of India.

If you’re travelling by rail, the Majorda Railway station is only 2.4 kilometres away and is the closest whereas the Vasco da Gama railway station is at a distance of 21.1 kilometres. Lastly, if you’re travelling by road, Margao city center is only 11.6 kilometres from Majorda

1. Explore the Village

 

The Majorda village is only a little distance away from the beach. There is plenty of vegetation here and cafes too along with bike rentals, grocery shops, supermarket, wines stores, and an ATM too. It is also a very good way of knowing more about the Goanese culture.

2. Carpe Diem 

Carpe Diem is an art studio that also conducts activities and classes for students of all ages. It also holds book reading sessions, music classes, theatre classes, and pottery workshops. There are art exhibitions held here throughout the year. The café also sends sandwiches, pastries, wraps, shakes waffles et cetera.

3. Churches 

There are many beautiful and fascinating churches in Majorda and various others around it at Margao and Vasco da Gama. Some such churches are Church of the Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Grace, St. Andrew’s Church, Fatorda Church, Rachol Seminary, and the Milagries Chapel.

4. Water Sports

 

Just like the other beaches, this one also provides with several water sports and a large variety to choose from such as speed boat and banana boat rides, parasailing, windsurfing, and jet skiing. The waves here are not very huge and so the sea is safe for swimming as well.
