Do Dham yatra Gangotri - Badrinath

Gangotri Shrine: Founded in the eighteenth century by Amar Singh Thapa, a Gorkha Commander, the present Shrine was later re-constructed by the Jaipur Dynasty. This temple considered sacred by the devout Hindus, is situated at a height of 3,200 meters above sea level. It makes up one of the ‘Chardham yatra ’ in Uttarakhand by which the devotees believe they attain Moksha.

It is a belief among the devotees and pilgrims that the water from the River Gangotri called ‘Amrit’ or Nectar which is carried from the holy river to the Lord Shiva deity, will soothe his throat after he consumed the poison. The Pujaris or priests and the religious people belong to the village of Mukhwa.

Badrinath Temple: Due to the hilly terrain and lofty hills in this elevated region, it is considered to be one of the toughest pilgrimages in India. Situated in the mighty tall peak at 6,597 meters above sea level on Neelkanth, it is a beautiful sight especially due to the background nature and mountainous region.

The pilgrimage site Badrinath Temple stands in the lap of Nar Narayan Parvat amidst various cliffs and curves. It is one of the most difficult pilgrimages or Yatras to go for.
