Valley of Flowers National Park Uttarakhand

The best time for you to visit the valley of flowers is in the months of July and August. Trekker is also similar to the valley of flowers because there is a 20 kilometer trek. There is a national spot bloom in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. This is also referred to as the valley of flowers. Here, you will get the best views of the snow pinnacles of the Himalayas. There are beautiful and diverse flowers on the slopes of this elevation.

It is also believed that Lord Hanuman had gathered the Sanjeevani booti for treating Lakhshmana, who was the brother of Lord Rama.

History of the Valley of Flowers Uttarakhand

This is a Himalayan valley that has a high height Himalayan valley. This is a place that is quite well-known among the botanists and the mountain climbers. In the year 1931, Mr. Forthright S. Smythe, Eric Shipton and R. L. Holdsworth lost their way while returning from a battle. Then they came across this valley that was full of flowers. They named this place as the Valley of Flowers.

  • Hemkund

    This is settled in the middle of the Himalayan range. This is a sacrosanct journey and the Sikhs have adored this place. This has one of the most beautiful views and this heavenly place will provide you with a calm and a serene environment. This is situated at a height of about 4329 meters above the ocean level. This is also considered to be one of the most holy spot of the Sikhs.

    This signifies the pool of snow because the water of the lake is extremely clear and frosty like the snow. Hemkund Sahib is also called the Gurudwara and in order to reach this place, yot can trekk through the various waterfalls. You will also have to cross by the woodland and also the enthralling perspectives of the Himalayan ranges.

  • Badrinath

    This is also called the Badrinarayan Temple and is called the Hindu asylum. This is focused on Lord Vishnu. The asylum and the town outline of the char dhams as well as the travel areas of the chota char dham. The haven is one of the 108 divya desans that is focused on Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is respected as Badrinath. This remains open for half the year ( between the months of April and the beginning of November) in the crazy atmosphere of the Himalayan district.

Best time to visit the valley of flowers

Valley of flowers is a proper destination for trekking. Therefore, if you are visiting this place, make sure that you take good trekking equipments with you. You should also carry heavy and protective clothes. During the summer season as well the Valley of flowers is cold. You can also avail ponies from Govindghat to Ghangaria.

The other option is to take a helicopter or the Palinquin porter. But the helicopter will only fly when the weather conditions are ok.

  • Summer

    This is the time when the snow starts dissolving and the little plants start developing. There are also icy masses that continue softening.

  • Monsoon

    The months between July and September is referred to as the monsoon season. This is the time when the valley is blossoming with beautiful flowers.

  • Winter

    Snowfall begins in the month of October and the valley during this time is shut for the normal tourists.

How to reach the Valley of Flowers?

You have the option of reaching Srinagar by air, by train or even by road.

  • By Air

    Jolly Grant airport is the nearest airport from Govindghat. If you want to reach Hemkund Sahib, you will have to take a horse, a pony or a helicopter. You can also trek from Govindghat.

  • By Train

    The nearest railway station is Rishikesh railway station. You will reach the Rishikesh station by train and after that take a bus or a taxi to Govindghat.

  • By road

    Govindghat is connected to a number of cities including Srinagar, Delhi, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Rudraprayag.
