History of Mandore Garden

History of Mandore gardens starts from the 6th century. At that time Mandore was under the rule of Pratiharas of Mandavyapura. The king of Rathore dynasty Rao Chunda married the Princess of Pratiharas. As a dowry, he got the Mandore Jungarh Fort.

After a while, In 1427 Mandore under the rule of Rao Rinmal Rathore who is also the administrator of the kingdom of Mewar until 1438. The Mewar ruler Rana Khumba overtook the throne of Mandore by assassinating the Rao Rinmal. During the assassination of Rao Rinmal his son escaped and tried a lot to recapture the Mandore but not worked. In 1453, Mandore underwent the rule of Rao Jodha.

After many invasions, Mandore became the capital of Jodhpur kings. Even though many dynasties invaded the Mandore like Muslim rulers of Gujarat and Malwa. To protect the Mandore, the capital of Jodhpur was changed to Mehrangarh Fort which is safe for the kingdom wealth.

The walls of the hall are completely filled with beautiful paintings and rock statues of Rajput heroes. Statues of heroes, colorful paintings are crafted on a huge rock and this Hall of Heroes is the depiction of locality heroes like Chamunda and Pabuji. Timings and charges of Mandore Garden

Timings to Mandore Garden is from Morning 8 AM to evening 8 PM. There will be no charges for visiting Mandore Gardens. The Government Museum in the gardens will be opened from 9 AM to 6 PM only from Saturday to Thursday. Charges for the Museum is Rs 50.

By Road means, Mandore Garden are 10 kms far away from the Jodhpur Bus stand. Tourists can easily pick from the Bus stand to Mandore Gardens.

By Rail means, it is also same of 10 kms far away to Mandore Gardens. Tourists can easily reach the gardens by Railways also.

By Air means, tourists have to travel 12 ms from the airport to the Mandore Gardens. It is better to choose NH 62 which is 12 kms far away to the airport from Mandore gardens.
