Bangalore

The tour starts in Bangalore. All are requested to report to Taj West End by 3 PM. You would then take up the heritage walk inside the hotel and enjoy tea at 5 PM. A small presentation about the tour would be provided and the guests can visit ISKCON Temple to enjoy a religious ritual. You would be back to Yeshwanthpur Railway Station by 8 PM. After a welcome party, the train slowly starts its journey. Dinner would be served onboard. Train slowly moves into Tamil Nadu.

Chennai - Mamallapuram

Train reaches Chennai by early in the morning. You would enjoy Mahabalipuram cave temples, sculptures, beach temple and others in the morning. There are a lot of reliefs and other attractions here. It would take the whole morning and you would reach Radisson Blu, a five star hotel for lunch. After lunch, you would continue your sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. You would be escorted to the Golden Chariot at 5 in the evening. The rest of the evening is all yours. You can enjoy the various amenities inside the train. Dinner would be served onboard and the train slowly makes its way to Pondicherry

Pondicherry

You would reach Pondicherry very early in the morning. After breakfast, you would wander and explore this French Colony. There are a lot of sightseeing spots here and top attractions are the cobbled streets, Auroville Ashram, beach and others. After lunch, you would visit the Aurobindo Ashram and the Ganesh Temple. You would be escorted to your cabin by early evening and you would spend the rest of the day onboard. Dinner would be served in the train and you can rest for the day as the train starts towards Tanjore.

Tanjavur - Trichy

After breakfast, you would first visit the World Heritage Site of Brihadeshwara Temple. After watching some auspicious rituals, you can indulge in shopping. You would have lunch in a river view resort and continue your sightseeing with Sri Rangam Temple and others. You would reach your cabin by late evening and rest for the day. Dinner would be served onboard and the train starts towards Madurai.

Madurai

You would reach Madurai by morning. After breakfast, you would visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, museum, 1000 pillar temple and others. You would get back to the train for a lunch and continue your sightseeing with Gandhi Museum, Thriumalai Nayaka Palace and others. You would get back to your cabin after watching the light and sound show in the Palace. Dinner would be served onboard. Train now starts towards Kanyakumari.

Kanyakumari

You would reach Kanyakumari for the right time to watch sunrise from the southern tip of the country. You would get back to your cabin for breakfast. After breakfast, you would visit Padmanabhapuram Palace and get back to the train. Lunch will be served onboard and train would start its travel towards Kerala. You would reach Kocchuveli Station by early evening. You would be visiting the beach for a tea and a cultural show with dinner in a hotel. You will get back to your cabins by late night and train gracefully enters Alleppey.

Kochi - Alappuzha

You would reach Alappuzha or Alleppey by 8 in the morning. After breakfast, you would board the traditional and romantic houseboat where you would be enjoying the whole morning. The houseboat would take you on a cruise on the backwaters where you would be enjoying an exotic mix of wildlife, nature and water. You would visit a lake resort for lunch and get back to sightseeing. Top attractions that you will find are Mattancherry, Chinese Fishing Net, Fort Kochi, Jews Town and many others. You would board the train by evening and the train leaves to Bangalore immediately. The rest of the day is all yours inside the train. Dinner is served onboard.

Bangalore (Return)

You would be arriving Bangalore by morning. After breakfast, you would have to follow the check-out formalities and you can choose your destination from there. You can either choose the airport from which you can board your departure flight or, you can stay back in Bangalore and do some sightseeing.

Given below are the inclusions, exclusions and other details of the Golden Chariot - Splendor of the South.

Half fare for children between 5 and 12 years.
Christmas and New Year being the peak holiday season calls for a 10% surcharge levied on all departures.
As per the Government of India norms, GST levied on the prevalent tariff.

Inclusions

The tariff of this luxury train includes accommodation on board, the meals, the sightseeing trips, and the entrance fees (while entering monuments, parks, palaces and other sightseeing locations).

Exclusions

The fare of the Golden Chariot does not comprise of tips, phone calls, and camera fees in the sightseeing locations, SPA car and Business car facilities, liquor as well as laundry.

The booking policies:

You are required to pay 20% of ticket value at the time of booking confirmation.
Rest 80% of the ticket value is to be paid 45 days before departure.

The cancellation policies applicable to the Indian Odyssey are:

Any cancellation must be advised immediately by Email and subsequently confirmed by letter to the Central Reservation Division
If the cancellation is made 60 days prior to departure, no cancellation crarges.
20% of ticket value 45-59 days prior to departure.
50% of ticket value 30-44 days prior to departure.
100% ticket value will be retained, if cancelled 29 days prior to commencement of Train journey.

The booking policies:

The reservation policies of the Pride of the South tariff (FIT) are as follows:

Payment of 20% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking is mandatory.
Remaining 80% of ticket value can be paid 60 days prior to departure.

The reservation policies of the Pride of the South tariff (for Groups) are as follows:

Payment of 50% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking is mandatory.
Remaining 50% of ticket value can be paid 45 days prior to departure.

Cancellation Policy Cancelation policies as mentioned in the tariff (FIT) are as:

When booking is cancelled 60 days prior to departure - 5% of ticket value will be deducted
When booking is cancelled 30-59 days prior to departure - 20% of ticket value will be deducted
When booking is cancelled 15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of ticket value will be deducted
When booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to departure - 100% of ticket value will be deducted

Exclusion Cancelation policies as mentioned in the tariff (for Groups) are as:

When booking is cancelled 60 days prior to departure - 10% of ticket value will be deducted
When booking is cancelled 30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of ticket value will be deducted
When booking is cancelled 15-29 days prior to departure - 75% of ticket value will be deducted
When booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to departure - 100% of ticket value will be deducted

No Show

In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.

En route termination of tour

In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.

Amendment

Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) and is subject to availability. No refunds are possible and every case be decided on merits on a case to case basis.
