Spanning almost to 900 feet, the mausoleum of the Taj Mahal makes it real like never before. Moreover, the beauty enhances with the fact that it stands at the opposite end of the magnificent Taj gardens.

The glorious Taj Mahal rises to a height of almost 200 feet. At the lowest level of the Taj is a red sandstone platform that makes it looks simply gorgeous thus making it more worthwhile and significant in terms of travel.

Just above the mentioned podium, there is white marble podium offering immaculate beauty and it also serves as the base for the mausoleum. On its corners you can find the white marble platform of almost 138 ft high.

With all the porticos of the tomb consisting of magnificent and huge iwans (arched shaped gateways), you cannot avoid to its exquisite calligraphy.

Moreover, the angles of the tomb are carved in such a way that they give it a semi-octagonal shape with arched alcoves of equal size thus making it appealing and fascinating.

Then there are attached pilasters, which rise from the base of the tomb demarks each of the porticos, and that is where it becomes the best monument ever produced by the mankind.

As you go further in the Taj Mahal, you will be mesmerized by its inside look. We also come across an elevated central chamber and that is what makes it ever more appealing and gorgeous in appearing.

If you look at the rooms, you will notice that they represent like grave like structures as it was built for that purpose only.

In the central chamber you can notice the cenotaph of Mumtaz Mahal and of Shah Jahan as well. If you go to the left section, you will notice that Mumtaz podium is a bit lower than Shah Jahan.

What’s more, you can also find the interiors of Taj Mahal of Agra boasting with a Cairene lamp rising above the tombs.

The other fascinating part of the tomb is that the flame in the lamp glows and that is what makes things all the more preferable especially from tourist point of view.
