Mumbai

Welcome onboard Deccan Odyssey. In the evening, around 1530 hours, guests have to gather at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to complete their registration and check-in formalities for royal journey to commence; mean while enjoy your welcome drink. Later, guest will be taken to their respective cabins. Make yourself comfortable in your impressive cabins. Dinner and overnight stay onboard, as the train proceeds for Vadodra.

Vadodara

Today after breakfast you disembark the train for a sightseeing tour to the cultural capital of Gujarat, Vadodara. Your first visit is to the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, which is the only pre-Mughal Islamic city of the country. The city is graced by numerous Hindu and Jain temples. Among the mosques of Champaner, the Jama Masjid is the central attraction. The open arcades, jaali work and 30 metre minarets present a blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture.

After an onboard lunch, you are taken to Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. After checking out the relics of ancient Gujarat, you move to the Laxmi Vilas Palace. Besides the imposing mosaic art work and multi coloured tiles, the palace is impressive with a collection of sculptures and paintings. Enjoy a hi-tea with the royal residents of the palace and a folk performance before coming back to the train for dinner and overnight stay.

Palitana

Today you wake up at the city of peace, Palitana. After an onboard breakfast, get down at Palitana, known for the largest group of Jain temples. Located at the Shatrunjaya hill top, there are almost 863 shrines here. Know about Jainism from the Tirthankaras and spend some time at the soulful abode before getting back to the train. Lunch is arranged at the train and spends the rest of the day enjoying the services of Deccan Odyssey as it crawls to Sasan Gir.

Sasan Gir - Somnath

Today early morning after an onboard breakfast you enter the jungles along with an experienced guide to meet the majesty of the jungles, the Asiatic lions. It is the only park in the whole world where you have the golden opportunity to see lions roaming about freely in their natural habitat. The grazing herds of sambar and chowsingha antelopes and almost 200 species of birds are the other treasures of the forest. After this exhilarating safari, relax with a tribal dance performance at the Gateway hotel and then enjoy an authentic lunch platter here.

Afterwards you drive to the 4th century Somnath Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this glorious temple is not only exquiaitely beautiful but also has several folklores revolving round it. Later get back to the train for your next destination Rann of Kutch.

Little Rann of Kutch

Today after breakfast you start for a unique trip to the salt desert, Rann of Kutch. This white desert is a natural wonder which lies the Wild Ass Sanctuary. Ride on a jeep safari to view the large population of wild ass and numerous species of birds.

After lunch at the Rann Riders Safari Resort, bask in the rustic life of Rann of Kutch with a village safari trip; it is a land of tribes, the Agarias and Rabaris. Return to Deccan Odyssey for dinner and night stay as it rolls on to Patan.

Modhera - Patan

Today you open your eyes at a 8th century city, Patan. With its mighty forts, palatial palaces, enchanting lakes and sacred shrines, the town is no less than a fairy tale. After breakfast you set off to pay your homage to the Sun Temple of Modhera. With 108 shrines, the Sun temple complex is spectacular with intricate carvings and sandstone architecture. You also visit Rani ki Vav, a 11th century step well which has been recognised as a world heritage site. Checkout the making f gorgeous Patola saris of Gujarat and return to the train for lunch.

As the train voyages to Nashik, spend your evening seeing the sublime beauty of the Rann as it passes by.

Nashik

With its magnificent temples, Nashik is the pilgrimage city of Gujarat. After breakfast, get down for visiting the Pandu Leni, some of the oldest Jain and Buddhist caves. After deep diving into the true life of the monks and tirthankaras, you are taken to the Grover Zampa vineyards. Nashik is one of the largest wine producing states of India and the reasons for the same are found at this vineyard; the vines of Chenin, Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes line up the groves of the vineyard. Relish an authentic Indian lunch at the vineyard. Spend some tranquil moments at the banks of the holy Godavari River, witnessing the Hindu rituals and way of worship.

Return to the train for return journey to Mumbai. Dinner and night stay are arranged at the train.

Today after breakfast you bid goodbye to Deccan Odyssey and its staff and the tour comes to an end.

The booking policies:

You are required to pay 20% of ticket value at the time of booking confirmation.
Rest 80% of the ticket value is to be paid 45 days before departure.

The cancellation policies applicable to the Indian Odyssey are:

Any cancellation must be advised immediately by Email and subsequently confirmed by letter to the Central Reservation Division
If the cancellation is made 60 days prior to departure, no cancellation crarges.
20% of ticket value 45-59 days prior to departure.
50% of ticket value 30-44 days prior to departure.
100% ticket value will be retained, if cancelled 29 days prior to commencement of Train journey.
