It is not an attraction only for the devotees from India but it also attracts a lot of foreigners who are interested in Hinduism and want to explore their spiritual mind by spending time close to the God. People who have a passion for rafting arrive here to triumph over the white water of the river Ganga. It serves as a perfect base camp for the trekkers going to the nearby Himalayas.

A yearly International Yoga Week Festival is planned in Rishikesh, in the months of February or March. Famous spiritual leaders, Meditation teachers, Yoga teachers, Naturopathy doctors and thousands of Indian and foreign devotees take part in this festival.

Lakshman Jhula
The Lakshman Jhula is a main landmark in Rishikesh. It is a hanging bridge, made up of iron, over the river Ganga. It is said to be made at the same spot where the original jute bridge was there which was made by Lakshman, younger brother of lord Rama

Bharat Mandir
This mandir was build by Adiguru Shankracharya in the 12th century. It is located in the heart of this age old town. The Inner chamber of this temple houses the statue of lord Vishnu, which is carved from a single Shaligram. This temple is devoted to Bharat, who was the brother of Lord Rama.

Triveni Ghat
This is the foremost ghat in Rishikesh, where the majority of the devotees take a holy dip. Everyday in the evening most of the pilgrims attend the very famous and sacred Ganga Arti at this Ghat which in itself is a very unusual and a mesmerizing experience.

Rishikund
Closest to the Triveni Ghat, is the religious and ancient place known as the Rishikund. Prehistoric records relate Rishikund to Kubz saint, said to be blessed by Goddess Yamuna, when she soaked the kund (pond) by its water. You can see the reflection of the shrine of Raghunath, which is devoted to Lord Rama as well as his wife Sita.
